KöR Teeth Whitening

Many people come to us looking for solutions to improve the appearance of their teeth but feeling hopeless because cosmetic dentistry seems like it’s out of reach. Often, however, all that’s needed to make a smile attractive again is a quality professional teeth whitening treatment.

At Summercrest Dental, we’ve helped plenty of patients have a bright and beautiful smile once again using the KöR Teeth Whitening System. The process, also known as deep bleaching, works quickly and appears to roll back the clock on your teeth, reversing years of yellowing caused by foods, drinks, and the aging process.

Why We Chose KöR

Before deciding on the system to offer our patients, Dr. Gilstrap did his research. We wanted a system that was incredibly effective and gave long-lasting and satisfying results with minimal side effects and a price tag that most patients could fit in their budgets.

When it comes to cosmetic dentistry treatments, teeth whitening is far and away the most cost-effective way to improve the look of your smile, and the KöR system meets all the criteria that we are looking for, providing premium whitening to our patients. KöR is even effective on staining caused by tetracycline, an antibiotic. Very few systems can say that!

We like to give our patient options, so we also offer a typical take-home teeth bleaching kit; however, KöR's combination of in-office treatment and customized trays and premium bleach delivers the longest lasting most dramatic results. Unlike other bleaching systems, KöR penetrates deep into your teeth, changing the shade of the tooth itself, not just the outer layers.

How KöR Works

We start by making customized molds from impressions of your teeth. This allows us to design trays that fit your teeth perfectly. In turn, the trays provide even coverage of the whitening product on your teeth and help to prevent the product from oozing onto the sensitive tissue of your gums, tongue, and lips.

We often recommend that you begin with a professional cleaning. This gives you a fresh, clean surface to start from and prevents plaque or tartar from obscuring your results, which might result in uneven whitening. Before you begin whitening, we’ll take a before shade so that you can easily see the change in your smile.

The actual whitening begins with an in-office treatment that takes about an hour. During your visit, you’ll learn how to use the trays and the product for the best results. You’ll wear your trays overnight for two weeks, and the product will work while you are sleeping. After two weeks, you’ll return to our office and we’ll check your shade once again and compare it to your starting shade. Most patients are amazed at their results! Plus, you don’t have to worry about your teeth being “unnaturally” white. KoR won’t bleach your teeth beyond the natural white of healthy teeth.

The Professional Whitening Difference

Many patients who come to us for whitening have tried plenty of over-the-counter products and have been disappointed with the outcome. Although the drug store shelves are full of options that claim to “provide professional results,” the truth is that professional results only come from professional-strength products. You might see a slight improvement as the product removes surface stains, but most staining occurs beneath the surface, and over-the-counter products simply don’t have the kind of power to remove these stains.
